Hans Blaakman, DPM
 Hans Blaakman, DPM graduated from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT with a degree in biology. He then immediately went on to the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine (now the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.) and graduated in 1992. Upon graduating, he was bestowed with the Stanley David award for outstanding proficiency in the clinical sciences. He continued his medical and surgical training at the Carney Hospital, an affiliate of Boston University, in Boston, Massachusetts. After practicing for over 10 years in Bedford, NH-Dr. Blaakman decided to pack his bags and move to South Carolina in search of sunny, warmer weather and a more temperate climate. Dr. Blaakman is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatry Surgery, is a fellow in the American College of Foot Surgeons. He enjoys treating many conditions in patients of all ages from infants to seniors.
Currently he serves on the credentials committee at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
After working in Gaffney for the past three and a half years, he recently decided to open another office in Duncan, SC. This office is located on highway 290 where he shares space with the Family Physicians of Highway 290.
When not working, Dr. Blaakman enjoys swimming and walking his dogs, but mainly spending time with his family. He is actively involved with his daughter's sports activities of soccer and swimming (-when he is not acting as their homework coach). He has been happily married to Lauren for over 15 years and his wife often defeats him in games of tennis.
